Biography

The first song I ever recorded was a cover of one of my favourite Alterbridge songs, “Watch Over You”. I posted it on YouTube for fun, and decided to keep going with it. So I started to write and eventually record some originals. Family, friends, rainbows, butterflies, and gigantic geese in my yard…these were all my inspiration. I love to sing and make music, even if it’s only for the birds.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a cashier at the IGA grocery store because I thought the conveyer belt was the coolest thing pretty much ever. I got tired of that fairly quickly. My next major goal in life was to sing and play the piano. Thanks to my loving parents who paid for weekly piano lessons, I fell in love with the instrument very quickly at age 9. To my brothers’ dismay, I used to sing at the top of my lungs and play for hours on end. With a house full of kids, I nearly drove my family to insanity. Nonetheless, by 12 years old, I was writing music and singing my own lyrics. By 14, I had decided I wanted to record.

Growing up in Montreal, Canada, surrounded by a vibrant community of musicians and artists should have been enough to get me on the right musical track. But to be honest, I would have to credit my original musical inspiration to my older sister, Jen. Before I was tall enough to stand, she was singing at the top of her lungs for the whole neighbourhood to hear. She was a piano playing singer, and I wanted to be one too.

Many piano lessons and Disney songs later, I still love to sing at the top of my lungs, play my favourite instrument and find myself in my music. I hope you find a little bit of yourself in it too.
